Printed Page has a long relationship with the East Denver FISH foodbank, one of the few food banks in Denver that delivers food to the needy, instead of having the needy come to it. When recipients call in to schedule a delivery, the call-taker gets the ages of the residents. If there are children in the home, FISH includes age-appropriate books with the food — books provided by Printed Page.
Over the past several months, the majority of food recipients have been children. That’s the bad news. The good news is that Printed Page has been able to keep up with demand for kids’ books in part because of generous donations from our customers and friends.
Printed Page also provides books to the St. Francis Day Center, which provides services for Denver’s homeless population, and stocks a library at the St. Francis Apartments at Cathedral Square, an apartment house for people coming off homelessness. Our customers and friends help make those efforts possible, too.
We are deeply appreciative.
