People often ask us where we find all the books that fill the shelves in Printed Page. (Hint: It’s not in houses when people go on vacation.) Basically, we find books in two ways: People either bring them into the store, or we go to homes to buy collections.
During the past couple of years, we’ve been doing a lot of both. COVID caused people to downsize and to sell libraries for needed cash. And, as we know, people died. Some weeks, we acquire thousands of books.
If you’re bringing books in, you’re welcome anytime we’re open, but we can generally give you more attention earlier in the day. If you’d prefer we come to your house, a good first step is to send us some photos of a sampling of your books. Send them to theshop@printedpagebookshop.com.
We pay cash for books; none of this “you give us two books and take one in payment” and no consignment deals. And if you’re just interested in getting rid of books, we have several non-profits where we donate books — including a food bank where we donate books for children. Whatever your situation, we’re here to help.
